Nog een paar weken en dan is het zomervakantie. Ik probeer van tevoren een aantal dingen te bedenken die ik met Roan kan doen. Een tijdje geleden las ik via de Facebookpagina van Kiind iets over Oobleck maken.
“Oo wattes?” denk je nu waarschijnlijk…
Oobleck is een niet-newtoniaanse vloeistof die je zelf kan maken. Een niet-newtoniaanse vloeistof wil zeggen dat het hard is wanneer je er druk op uitoefent en vloeibaar is wanneer je dat niet doet.

Omdat Roan dol is op kleien en supersand, leek mij dit ook een leuke activiteit om samen te doen. En inderdaad: hij is er bijna de hele middag zoet mee geweest. En ik vond het zelf ook leuk om te doen!
Het is bovendien goedkoop en makkelijk te maken, een ideale vakantie bezigheid dus!

 

 

Wat heb je nodig?:
* Maizena
* Water
* Kom
* Optioneel: kleurstof. Ik heb kleurstof van Dr. Oetker gebruikt die je kunt vinden bij de bakspullen in de supermarkt

 

 

In de eerste instantie heb ik een ratio van 1 op 1 aangehouden: 1 eetlepel maizena op 1 eetlepel water. Als de Oobleck te dik is voeg je nog een beetje water toe, is het te dun dan doe je er een beetje maizena bij. Voeg daarna de kleurstof toe.
Het roeren wordt lastiger naarmate er meer maizena bij zit, dit komt omdat je met roeren druk uitoefent. Ik gebruik meestal een vork om te roeren, je kunt het natuurlijk ook met je handen doen.

 

 

Ik heb verschillende plastic bakjes met kleurtjes gemaakt en één grote kom. Uiteindelijk zat alles in de grote kom en zo leerde hij direct iets over kleuren mengen.
Je kunt er bijvoorbeeld op slaan, je verwacht dat het spettert maar dat doet het dus niet. Je kunt het “vastpakken” en weer laten druipen. Er zijn allerlei mogelijkheden te ontdekken. Roan vindt het ook leuk om zijn hand er in te drukken en langzaam weer omhoog te trekken (weerstand).
Toen hij uitgespeeld was heb ik de bakjes in de vaatwasser gezet, de tafel schoongemaakt met vochtige doekjes maar als je even wacht dan droogt het helemaal op en kun je het zo opzuigen.
